Covid-19: 25 workplace clusters identified, 15 from factories
KUALA LUMPUR (July 27): A record high number of 42 new Covid-19 clusters were reported by the Health Ministry today, including 25 in the workplace.
Another 12 clusters are in the community, while two others were linked to high-risk groups, two more to detention centres and one to an education institution.
The previous record high daily clusters of 37 was posted on July 16.
Of the 25 workplace clusters detected in the 24 hours as of noon, six were identified in Johor, four in Selangor, three in Sabah, two each in Kedah, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Penang and Kuala Lumpur, and one each in Pahang and Perak.
Fifteen of these workplace clusters comprise factories and positive cases were mostly detected via targeted screenings of factory workers, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement.
