ALOR SETAR – Since the launch of the ‘travel bubble’ project on September 16, there have been no Covid-19 infection cases on Langkawi Island involving tourists.
With the reopening of tourism due to economic recovery, many were apprehensive that it would cause a spike in cases.
Fortunately, no cases of tourists being infected were reported in the last week.
Hence, Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Youth and Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Mohd. Firdaus Ahmad said the situation proves the successful implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) under the pilot project.
