Malaysia is the leader in Smart Weapon Storage (SWS), and the Singapore Police are using this technology for their Automated Armoury System (AAS).
The AAS is an intelligent locker system complemented by Radio-Frequency Identification technology and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
It is for officers to perform self-withdrawal and return of their firearms. With multiple authentication terminals, several officers will be able to withdraw or return their sidearms and tasers at the same time, saving time and improving efficiency at work.
Here is a video on how the SWS works.
#BackInTime SWS Inntech CEO Raymond Law said the company pioneered the World’s First Smart Weapon Storage System. “SWS combines advanced technology with unbreakable structure to provide the most secure and scalable weapon storage rack system,” he said at the launch of SWS's new factory, attended by SWS Singapore distributor and more than 100 guests.
“We are a Malaysian technological company specialising in researching and developing automated secure weapon storage technologies. SWS Inntech pioneered the concept of safe storage, easy operation, and real-time tracking, assisting law enforcement and military establishments. You can be assured that your weapons are secure from intruders and criminals.
“The aim is to monitor the storage of weaponry, and it is for gaining greater accountability and public confidence in weapon storage and weapon usage,” SWS Inntech chairman Edmund De Run told Newswav.
Old friendships of over 20 years remained strong when Raymond and the company chairman Edmund started working on security systems together in a small way as founders of the company. Raymond, Edmund, and the IT expert team have developed this high-tech SWS over the past 20 years.
In Malaysia, the Sinar Daily reported Auditor-General's Report (LKAN) 2022 that departments and agencies under the Home Ministry (KDN) failed to manage and supervise optimally after recording losses of over RM6 million from contractors' failure to supply firearms.
In the United States, ABC News reported in 2011 that 62,000 Guns had gone missing for three years. The guns disappeared from U.S. Firearm Dealers' Inventories without any record of being sold, according to a report by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
“We are proud to be a Malaysian company and pioneers in SWS now recognised by Singapore, and more inquiries are coming from other countries. We are currently engaging with the Royal Malaysian Police to adapt the SWS Inntech system,” said Raymond.
SWS, he added: “It is a secure, scalable and an excellent monitoring system. Our smart weapon storage system provides the most secure and scalable weapon storage rack system. It also has remote monitoring features, allowing you to monitor your weapons worldwide. All transactions are recorded instantly in electronic format for accurate inventory control”
SWS is poised to revolutionise the weapon storage practice of enforcement agencies and military establishments worldwide using its groundbreaking Smart Weapon Storage, bringing the age-old manual recording and padlock system to the modern Industrial 4.0 practice.
