In a heartfelt gesture, Kedah Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Haji Muhammad Sanusi bin Md Nor conveyed Chinese New Year wishes in Mandarin to the Chinese community, ushering in the “Year of the Dragon” with good fortune.

“Happy Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Fa Chai, wishes everyone brings great fortune in the dragon year, Heng Ong Huat! (兴旺发, a greeting that expresses well wishes for prosperity and good fortune),” he said.

This culturally inclusive moment was showcased in a video uploaded by Wong Chia Zhen, Kulim assemblyman and Chairman of the Kedah Chinese Affairs Committee, on his Facebook page.

In the video, both Wong and Sanusi, dressed in traditional Chinese attire, exchanged festive greetings and hand gestures.

They also displayed a New Year poster with the message, “Prosperity in Kedah Welcomes the Year of the Dragon, United in New Year Celebrations,” further symbolizing the state’s commitment to cultural unity and celebration.
