Jurgen Klopp says it was important Liverpool found a way to win without playing their best football.
The Reds nabbed their first trophy of the season with a hard-fought penalty shootout win over Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.
Speaking after the game, Klopp was pleased his team were able to win another piece of silverware after June's Champions League triumph.
He said: "We know that we have to improve a lot of things, but a lot of things were good.
"We can play and we will play better football but for tonight it was only about winning and we did that.
"We found again a way to win the game and that's big, really big, it feels incredibly big and I'm really happy about that."
