
Kota Kinabalu: Almost 1,200 football fans filled Padang Merdeka, here on Tuesday (January 10) to watch the big screen live telecast of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 second leg semi-final match between Thailand and Malaysia.
The programme was specially brought by the Sabah Federal Youth and Sports Department, with the cooperation of the Sabah Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBSS), Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) and Sabah Youth Council (MBS).
This programme was also a collaboration of the Ministry of National Unity and supported broadcasting from Astro, Radio ERA Sabah and Hitz Sabah.
Also present to watch the match were Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Sabah Datuk Andi Muhammad Surady Bandy, KBSS Permanent Secretary Datuk Mansur Asun, Director of the Youth Department and Sabah State Sports (P) Apui Jan, KBSS Youth Sector Permanent Deputy Secretary I William Ahlan and Deputy Permanent Secretary II Sports Sector KBSS Putera Jali.
Lucky draws for various merchandise from Era and Hitz radios were held during half-time.
Tuesday’s match saw Harimau Malaya failing to reach the final after losing 0-3 to Thailand on the night and 1-3 on aggregate.
