Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan on Sunday welcomed 1,500 new members from various political backgrounds, which leaders hailed as a sign of growing grassroots support ahead of the state election.

The group included Datuk Seri Winston Liaw, a well-known figure in Sabah’s tourism industry, who handed his membership form to Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.

Of the new members, over 500 were from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), about 420 from Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), 160-plus from Umno, and 40 from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
