TAWAU: Police checked a total of 1,039 men and 525 women in a three-day integrated crime prevention operation around the district from May 29.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said one man was detained under Section 379 of the Penal Code for stealing, while six men were detained under Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 12(2) of the same Act for taking and having drugs.
The operation also saw the seizure of 0.97gm of syabu.
Jasmin said 16 summones were issued for various offences during the operation aimed to reduce the crime rate in this district.
