Jasmin said a Perodua Bezza and foreign currency worth RM2,406 were also confiscated for investigations under Section 25(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (Forfeiture of Property) 1988.

He said the two cases were unrelated and only the suspect in the first case tested positive for drugs.

“Efforts to trace the remnants of this drug distribution network are being actively carried out,” he said.

According to him, all the suspects who do not have previous criminal records are remanded for 14 days until Friday (July 21).

Both cases are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the death penalty, if convicted.

Meanwhile, Jasmin said Tawau police have confiscated more than 15kg of drugs under Section 39B of the same Act from January to July this year.

“The figure does not include drug seizures of less than 50gm,” he said.
