KUALA LUMPUR - More than 1,800 Form Five students in Bandar Tun Razak began the new school year with a boost today, receiving RM100 cash aid and school supplies under the Ceria Ke Sekolah programme.
Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who officiated the event, said the initiative was not only about financial assistance but also about providing moral support to students as they prepare for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
“The SPM examination is an initial step towards a broader future, whether in continuing education, skills training or entering the workforce.
As an MP, I am committed to continuing to support the development of education in my constituency, including assisting students in their academic pursuits, and ensuring that all children in Bandar Tun Razak have the opportunity to gain knowledge, receive academic guidance, motivation and student welfare assistance,” she said.
The programme, held for the second time in the constituency, was also attended by the Prime Minister’s Political Secretary, Datuk Azman Abidin, who emphasised its role in easing family burdens while fostering community care and concern for the less fortunate.
“All students will receive a school bag engraved with their name and class, along with a school badge logo. Hopefully, the cash contribution will be used to meet school-related needs, such as stationery, books and other essentials,” he said.
Students expressed gratitude for the aid, which comes just as the new school session begins.
Nur Aisyah Amani Jumairi, from SMK Bandar Tasik Selatan, said: “Alhamdulillah, this contribution will benefit students who will be sitting for the SPM examination this year, and help ease the burden on parents.”
Meanwhile, Tan Wen-Yi, from SMK Orkid Desa, shared: “I am happy to receive the contribution today, especially as I will be sitting for the SPM this year. I am very grateful for the cash assistance and school supplies.” - January 11, 2026
