10 areas in Peninsular Malaysia under Level 1 heat alert

MetMalaysia issues a Level 1 heat alert for 10 areas as temperatures hit 35-37°C for three consecutive days

KUALA LUMPUR: Ten areas across Peninsular Malaysia are under a Level 1 heat alert. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) confirmed the status as of 4 pm.

The alert is triggered when the daily maximum temperature reaches between 35°C and 37°C for at least three consecutive days.

Affected areas include Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas and Machang in Kelantan. Jerantut, Temerloh and Maran in Pahang are also on alert.

The districts of Kinta in Perak, Gombak in Selangor, Jempol in Negeri Sembilan and Segamat in Johor complete the list.
