Whatever age you are, and whatever your level of talent, belting out your favourite tunes can really lift your mood. And if you’re someone who also likes a party and to sing along with friends then the best karaoke machine could be just what you need.
While there are plenty of karaoke toys on the market, some adults may be looking for a more professional setup with a proper speaker and high quality microphones. I’ve taken a look at some of the best karaoke machines on the market right now, for all ages and budgets. And I discovered there’s more to consider than just which song to choose.
You’ll need to think about where you’re going to get the songs from, if there’s a screen to read the lyrics off, sound quality and how portable the machine is. Some machines have Bluetooth so you can stream songs from Spotify, YouTube or other apps, while others have in-built karaoke apps you can subscribe to with thousands of songs to choose from. Other features to consider are LED disco lights, games and voice effects.
My family and I may have gone hoarse testing them, but here are the best karaoke machines to buy in 2026.

Mr Entertainer nano
Best: karaoke machine overall
Why we love it
- Small and lightweight
- Reasonably priced
- Simple to use
- LED lights move to the beat of the song
Take note
- No phone stand
The Mr Entertainer nano is the best karaoke machine we tried. It’s small in size, weighing just 1.6kg, but it still has great sound quality and creates a lot of fun. We found it quick and easy to set up, and once we’d connected the machine to Bluetooth we were up and running, and the performances began.

The two microphones are a good weight for small hands, and easy to store and charge within the unit. The boys loved being able to add effects to their singing voices and also add elements like applause and heckling. They were also very taken by the LED lights on the front panel of the unit which change and move to the beat of the song. This would be very effective if you’re hosting a mini disco for your kids and their friends. The brown strap was also really useful for carrying the machine from room-to-room.
One issue we did experience with this machine is that it doesn’t have a phone stand, so we had to hold a phone and share it to read the lyrics. However, for the great price and the fun we had using it, this is only a small fault.

RockJam pixel display karaoke speaker
Best: budget karaoke machine
Why we love it
- Reasonably priced
- Includes phone stand
- Lots of LED light patterns
Take note
- Too quiet for a big party
The RockJam pixel display karaoke speaker is small, light (1.7kg) and very portable, with a handle included inside the packaging. We loved the fact that the battery life was so long, at around 10 hours and it can also be connected to mains electricity.
The sound quality was good and the echo button was useful for when things got a bit too loud. This is an easy to use machine but it’s probably not the right one to choose for a party or large gathering. This is because the power output only goes to 12W, so it’s quieter than others on this list. However, that may be a bonus for some families or if it’s being used by a child in their bedroom.
My testers loved spotting the 20 LED patterns on the front display and trying out the sound effects. Other features we liked were the fact that it has a phone stand and remote control, which is something many of the others we reviewed were missing.

Ikarao break X2 karaoke machine
Best: premium karaoke machine
Why we love it
- Sleek design
- HD touchscreen
- Reaches high volume, so good for parties
- Versatile connection options
Take note
- Expensive
The Ikarao break X2 karaoke machine will really get the party started as the best premium karaoke machine I tested. We loved the larger 10.1in HD touchscreen with 180-degree rotation, which felt very innovative and easy to use. At 300W, it’s one of the loudest machines on my list so it would make a great option for a larger gathering. When we tested it we had to turn the volume down for fear of disturbing the neighbours.
The microphones charge neatly inside the machine and their batteries will last for up to 30 hours, with a range of up to 10 metres. The break X2 has great connectivity options, with Bluetooth, HDMI, USB and AUX, which means you can connect it to your phone and TV.

While the machine is very portable and has a carry handle, at around 6.8kg it’s a lot heavier than some of the other products on this list. But it comes with a smart carry strap so you can make sure it doesn’t get dropped. And with up to eight hours of playback, once it’s in position it should keep the party going for the whole night.
The main downside of this karaoke machine is that it’s at the top end of the price range. You would need to make sure you were using it a lot to justify the cost. But with its versatile connection options, great sound quality and large screen this is a machine that will get the party started anywhere.

Vtech karaoke light party
Best: karaoke machine for a kids' party
Why we love it
- Portable with carry handle
- Has fun games
- Has a voice remover button
Take note
- Needs 10 batteries
Vtech’s recommended age is 14 plus, but with the games, voice effects and pixel lights, I think the karaoke light party would also suit a younger crowd. It’s very light to carry around and store, which parents will love. We liked the fact that it had a handy phone rest on the top, a handle and somewhere to store the microphones when not being used.

The voice remover button was good for the amateur singers because we could tone down the professionals’ voices and hear our own beautiful notes.
Ten AA batteries are required to power the main unti and microphones. Our product came with four batteries included, but you can also use an AC adaptor to the AC adaptor port. The main unit shuts off after a few minutes if it’s not being used to preserve the battery power, which is a useful feature.

KPop Demon Hunters LED wireless karaoke speakers
Best: karaoke machine for young kids
Why we love it
- Portable with carry handle
- Simple to use for kids
- Lights are a fun added extra
Take note
- Flashing lights warning
The KPop Demon Hunters LED wireless karaoke speaker is a small but attractive product, which fans of the hit Netflix film will love to practice their versions of Golden and Takedown on. Our testers are word perfect on all of the songs and loved being able to wave the lightweight Huntrx microphones around as they sang.
It would make a great birthday or Christmas gift because it’s an excellent price and doesn’t take up much space. The low price does mean the sound quality is at a lower level than others on this list. However, it’s simple for kids to use and more fun than just using a simple speaker to sing along to.
The two microphones are perfect for small hands and meant there were plenty of duets. The lights are a fun added extra too, which the kids liked testing out in the dark.

Vtech karaoke lights mic
Best: karaoke machine for solo stars
Why we love it
- Reasonably priced
- Easy to use
- Doesn't take up as much space as a standard karaoke machine
Take note
- Not as many features as other karaoke machines
Vtech knows how to make fun and child-friendly products and our house has been full of them since the boys were quite small, so we were excited to try the Vtech karaoke lights mic.
The box for mic says the recommended age is 14 and over, but in reality this product suits much younger kids. Teenagers would definitely prefer some of the most sophisticated machines in this round-up, like the RockJam pixel display karaoke speaker.

However, the mic was perfect for our seven and 10-year-old testers. They used my phone to connect to Bluetooth and then took turns to belt out their favourite tunes.
They loved that they could save their award-winning performances and play them back. The voice effects also provided a lot of entertainment for the kids, but perhaps slightly less so for the adults.
A pixel light show on the front panel of the mic moves to the beat of the song playing, which is a fun feature. One of our testers loved the fact he could just wander around the house singing his favourite pop tunes.

Ikarao shell S2 karaoke machine
Best: karaoke machine for for small parties
Why we love it
- 8in touchscreen displays lyrics
- Good connectivity options
- Fairly lightweight
Take note
- Expensive
- Screen is small for large gatherings
The Ikarao shell S2 karaoke machine is a very sleek-looking product, which we really enjoyed testing out. It’s an all-in-one machine with an 8in touchscreen, two microphones and a 140W speaker. Weighing just over 3kg it’s very portable and simple to use. We loved the fact that the microphones go inside the charging dock, as it keeps them safe.

Having a screen is a big advantage as it means you don’t have to use a phone. However, if you were having a big party the 8in might be too small for lots of people to see the lyrics at the same time. Ikarao has solved this issue however, by enabling the speaker to be connected to a TV through the HDMI output.
The volume of the speaker was good, although not as loud as the Ikarao shell S1’s 280W maximum. For this reason, it would suit a small gathering in a living room, rather than a big celebration or party. The shell S2 also includes a free six months subscription to KaraFun, which is an app with games and thousands of songs.
We liked the fact that if you’re not in the mood for belting out songs, you can just use this as a speaker to listen to your favourite songs.

Mr Entertainer maestro pro
Best: karaoke machine for a big party
Why we love it
- Feels like a very professional set-up
- High top volume
- Large screen
Take note
- Expensive
- It's a large machine
The Mr Entertainer maestro pro is another premium karaoke machine with a price tag to match. It’s the best karaoke machine for a big party, with four microphones and a very decent top volume of 400W.
At 15.4in, the touchscreen is also bigger than others we tried, which means the whole party can get involved. We loved the fact that the screen can be tilted to help singers of all ages see the lyrics. It comes with built-in karaoke, music and video apps so we could start singing straight away. Mr Entertainer also has its own YouTube channel full of the latest chart hits and karaoke classics, which we found handy.

The mics charge automatically within the machine and are easy to store. It’s an android device so you need a Google account to connect to the Android 13 Smart System and Play Store.
The mics are a great size and very weighty when held. There are two mic holders on the back of the speaker, which is very useful. This machine has a lot more audio/bass/treble/echo buttons than others we reviewed and it felt like we could really finesse the sound. It felt like a very professional set-up and we started to believe we might actually be able to hold a tune!
One downside of the machine is that the rechargeable battery life is estimated at two to four hours. This would be sufficient for a party, but might cause issues at a longer event.

Easy Karaoke EKS213-BT bluetooth karaoke machine
Best: simple karaoke machine
Why we love it
- Reasonably priced
- Easy to move from room to room
Take note
- Only one mic included
- Lots of Christmas songs on the demo disc included
If you like your karaoke nights to be a bit old school, then the Easy Karaoke EKS213-BT could be the machine for you. Our testers may not know what they are, but this machine is CD-compatible, so you can play your old karaoke CDs. In fact, I don’t think my three testers had ever seen a CD before.
It also includes a demo disc of songs for you to start on straight away although the songs weren’t quite to our taste. There were a lot of Christmas tunes!

The machine only comes with one wired microphone, which is one drawback as singing with friends is always more fun. It also led to some bickering between our testers. However, there is a socket for a second mic so one could easily be added.
It’s mains powered but compact and only weighs 2.5kg, so can easily be carried from room-to-room. We liked the more traditional look of the machine but its sound quality couldn’t compete with some of the others on the list. There’s also nowhere to balance a phone or tablet to read the lyrics.
The easy karaoke comes in at a good price, but is perhaps not the machine for households who like to host large karaoke gatherings.

Lexibook iParty bluetooth karaoke system
Best: portable karaoke machine
Why we love it
- It’s very portable
- Good sound quality
Take note
- Short battery life
- Wired mic limits movement
The Lexibook iParty is another simple-to-operate karaoke system for less than £100, but doesn’t have lots of bells and whistles. We found the iParty easy to connect to a phone but the machine itself is quite bulky.
However, as it’s a trolley, with wheels and a telescopic handle, it’s very easy to manoeuvre from room-to-room. The single mic is wired to the speaker, which made it a bit limiting for our three testers when they wanted to throw some shapes and sing at the same time.

The machine provides good sound quality, and you can adjust the bass and treble and reduce echoing – this makes it sound better than other karaoke toys.

It comes at a great price, plus it’s simple to use, compact to store and packed with features that appeal to children and grown-ups alike. If you don’t want to spend more than £50, the RockJam pixel display karaoke speaker is easy to use, has good sound quality and a very long battery life. It just isn’t as loud as other karaoke machines we tested.
A special mention also goes to the Ikarao break X2 karaoke machine. Yes, it’s a premium product with a price to match, but with its sleek design and high quality microphones, it will really raise the bar at your karaoke parties or events.
How I tested karaoke machines
I tested the karaoke machines with my three music-loving kids, aged 10 and twins who are seven. None of the boys are shy when it comes to using a microphone and love making plenty of noise. We put a range of karaoke toys and more sophisticated machines to the test in our house. I looked at size, sound quality, cost and other features such as LED lights, games and other elements. I used the following criteria:
