KENINGAU: Ten people, including six teenage girls and two boys, were injured when a Perodua Alza collided with a Ford Ranger at Keningau Vocational College Road, here, Friday.

The nine injured in the Alza comprised a 45-year-old man, the six 18-year-old women and the two boys aged five and six.

The Ford’s 17-year-old driver also sustained injures.

The Keningau Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 12.29pm and a 14-member team led by operation commander Azme Japilis rushed to the location.

Also at the scene were police personnel and Ministry of Health officers.

Azme said the Alza’s front engine part was 100 per cent burnt, adding all injured victims were given initial treatment and sent to the Keningau Hospital in an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle and an ambulance for further treatment.

State Works Assistant Minister Datuk Robert Tawik, who was on his way to Kota Kinabalu, also stopped by and helped the injured victims.
