
PETALING JAYA: The worsening floods in Terengganu have forced 11,415 victims to be placed at temporary evacuation centres as of 8am today.
According to Berita Harian, 3,326 families are staying at 174 evacuation centres across seven districts.
Last night, it was reported that 5,494 flood victims from 1,627 families had been placed at 103 evacuation centres in the state.
The state disaster management committee secretariat said the number of evacuees in Hulu Terengganu increased to 3,998 today from 2,207 last night.
In Besut, 3,765 flood victims are taking shelter at 65 evacuation centres.
In Setiu, 2,157 victims from 632 families have been placed at 38 evacuation centres, compared with 725 victims from 227 families at 11 evacuation centres last night.
Kemaman recorded 1,008 victims from 277 families placed at 12 evacuation centres whereas 119 victims from 14 families are at two evacuation centres in Marang.
The number of flood victims in Kuala Terengganu remains unchanged, with 13 individuals staying at one evacuation centre.
