Not to be confused with the Malaysia Competition Commission, this MyCC is the Malaysian Common Criteria Evaluation and Certification scheme under CyberSecurity Malaysia. Its role is to evaluate and certify the security functionality of ICT products against defined criteria and standards such as ISO/IEC 15408, ISO/IEC 18045.

As one of the major players globally, Malaysian-made ICT products must fulfil certain requirements from other markets in order to be implemented in critical sectors. The MyCC labels provide the assurance that the security features are functioning as claimed by the developer and it has been evaluated by an independent evaluation facility and certified by an independent certification body using recognised standards.

Besides enhancing the nation’s infrastructure and ICT security, MyCC will allow local players to gain access to international markets for Malaysian ICT products. It will also improve our competitiveness and enhance our reputation as a provider of ICT security-assured services globally.

Before joining politics, Fahmi was a writer, actor and theatre performer. In case you didn’t know, he was in Gol & Gincu and was also a host of an online series, The Fairly Current Show.

WIth the rise of scam ads on social media, Fahmi has recently called upon the MCMC to take faster and tougher action. He also urge the public to report scam incidents within 24 hours by calling the national scam response centre hotline at 997 so that Bank Negara Malaysia can stop the outflow of funds.
