Union Minister JP Nadda addressed an 'Intellectuals’ Conference' organised by the BJP in Shimla.

Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday said 12 years of the Modi regime do not merely mark a government’s tenure but a transformational period that has laid down the strong foundation of a developed India.

Addressing the Intellectuals’ Conference, organised in Shimla under the BJP’s “12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare” campaign, Nadda said the twelve years of the Narendra Modi-led Union Government would be remembered as a golden chapter in India’s history.

“Before 2014, Indian politics revolved around casteism, dynastic politics, appeasement and corruption. Citizens had come to accept that governments would change, but governance would remain the same. PM Modi changed this mindset by making politics a medium of service, accountability and good governance,” said Nadda, adding that ordinary citizens confidently raised their voice against corruption in today’s India because they trusted that the government would listen to them.

The minister said PM Modi introduced the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”, while earlier governments that were elected with the support of all citizens often remained confined to the interests of a particular family, region or vote bank. “Today, the Modi government works for all 1.4 billion Indians," he added.

Nadda said PM Modi’s completion of 4,399 days as the nation’s “Pradhan Sevak” reflected the trust and support extended to him by 1.4 billion Indians. He lauded PM Modi for fulfilling several long-standing national aspirations for which BJP workers had struggled for decades. “The abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the abolition of ‘Triple Talaq’ and the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) are historic decisions that previous governments avoided for political reasons,” he said.

Highlighting achievements in infrastructure, Nadda said India had witnessed an unprecedented transformation over the last twelve years. “Railway electrification has increased by over 200 per cent and Himachal Pradesh has achieved 100 per cent railway electrification. National highways, tunnels, four-lane projects and modern transportation networks have dramatically changed the country’s landscape," said the minister.

Regarding Himachal, Nadda said the Modi government had given unprecedented momentum to the state’s development through investments in roads, healthcare, education and infrastructure. He said projects such as AIIMS-Bilaspur, new medical colleges, expanded national highways and welfare schemes had transformed the lives of lakhs of people across the state.

Leader of Opposition in HP Assembly Jai Ram Thakur said BJP had done exceedingly well in the recent urban local body and panchayat elections. State BJP President Rajeev Bindal said BJP would come back to power in the 2027 Assembly elections as public sentiment in the state was anti-Congress.
