A total of 123 Perak Sekolah Inspirasi receive RM12.3 million to implement high-impact educational programmes under the MOE school reform initiative.
IPOH: A total of 123 Sekolah Inspirasi in Perak will implement various high-impact programmes to enhance education quality after receiving a combined allocation of RM12.3 million under the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) school reform initiative.
MOE Daily School Management Section (BPSH) deputy director Salmah Abd Murad said each selected school received RM100,000, involving 60 secondary schools and 63 primary schools in the state.
She said the presentation of the school quality improvement initiative letters was part of the implementation of the reform programme under the Malaysian Education Blueprint (RPM) 2026-2035.
“The allocation focuses on improving the quality of teaching and learning, strengthening school leadership, enhancing teachers’ professionalism and, most importantly, improving student outcomes,” she told reporters after the presentation ceremony at the Perak Education Department (JPN) multipurpose hall here today.
Salmah said the schools receiving the allocation would carry out various high-impact programmes to improve student achievement, particularly in Bahasa Melayu, English and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
She said schools were also given the flexibility to plan suitable programmes, including enhancing students’ character development, strengthening teachers’ professionalism and creating a more conducive and engaging learning environment.
“These programmes were actually planned by the schools, but with the support of this allocation, they can be implemented on a larger scale and deliver greater impact.
“Among them are efforts to beautify school environments and classrooms to make them more attractive, thereby encouraging student attendance and increasing their interest in learning,” she said.
On the selection of schools, Salmah said they were identified based on assessments under the Malaysian Education Quality Standard (SKPM).
Meanwhile, she said the ministry encouraged the sharing of expertise between schools, including involving excellent teachers and schools with best practices, to help enhance the excellence of recipient schools.
She said the initiative involved 1,500 schools nationwide, with allocations to be channelled from this month and expected to be fully utilised by schools before the end of the year.
