In a startling incident today, an aerial-type bomb was discovered at the construction site of Pengkalan Chepa Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP) during drainage excavation works at 9.41 AM.
Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud, the district police chief, reported that they received news of the finding at 9.50 AM. The Bomb Disposal Unit swiftly responded, confirming that the object was an aerial bomb measuring 98cm in length and weighing 125kg.

Taking precautionary measures, the bomb disposal unit, jointly from the Kelantan police headquarters and Kota Bharu police headquarters, safely destroyed the bomb at 3.20 PM in a designated area.
