Having a special needs child is a beautiful thing. Like all parents, raising a child comes with its challenges, but with a special needs child, patience is key.

Her son climbed onto the balcony and walked along the ledge to the neighbour’s house!

In the video, the concerned mother is heard asking her 12-year-old son why he climbed onto the balcony and walked to the neighbour’s house.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Sarah shared that they live on the 22nd floor of an apartment in Kuala Lumpur. She revealed that she wasn’t home at the time, but their maid informed her about what had happened.

“My maid was in the toilet when the incident occurred. She heard the sliding door open and called out for Caliph, but he didn’t respond. She rushed out of the toilet and found that Caliph had already made his way to the neighbour’s house and back.”

Their neighbour thought he was a thief

Sarah continued to explain that their maid quickly pulled Caliph back in as soon as she saw him on the balcony. Their neighbour also informed Sarah that they witnessed Caliph on the ledge.

At first, their neighbour thought he was a thief, but then they realised it was a child trying to unlock their sliding door to get into the house.

However, when Caliph noticed that the neighbours were home, he quickly made his way back to his own apartment.

“We would never forgive ourselves if anything happened to him”

Sarah expressed her worries, noting that she and her maid felt guilty for not being more careful. They couldn’t stop beating themselves up over it.

“We were so worried that we lost our appetite. We were still in shock and kept imagining what could have happened if he had fallen.”

She went on to say that after a few days, they realised there was no use dwelling on it. If they kept feeling that way, the guilt would never go away.

“We decided to move forward and took it as a lesson to be more careful in the future.”

We’re just grateful that Caliph is safe and unharmed! It’s a reminder to all parents to keep a close eye on their children and be careful.
