A 13-YEAR-OLD girl tragically fell to her death from several floors of a school building in Kuala Lumpur yesterday evening.
The school confirmed that one of its students passed away.
"Immediate emergency measures were taken, and authorities were notified.
"Despite these efforts, the medical personnel confirmed the student had passed away.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family during this difficult time," the school said in a statement.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed the incident, asking the public to respect the privacy of the victim and her family.
Reports in the Chinese media said the victim had fallen from the eighth floor of the school building floor and police had classified the case as sudden death (SDR) while investigating rumours of a possible suicide.
The girl lived in the school hostel.
The school also urged the public to honour the privacy of the family and the memory of the deceased.
"Official investigation is in progress, and the school is giving full cooperation," it said.
