In a tragic event that unfolded in the early hours of the morning, a male Malayan tiger weighing about 130 kilograms was killed in a rare road accident.

The incident occurred at 1:23 AM today along the Kuala Lumpur-bound section of the Karak Expressway, near the 50.8 kilometer mark.

Pahang’s Director of Wildlife Protection and National Parks, Rozidan Yassin, announced in a press statement that the tiger was estimated to be around four years old based on its size.

“Preliminary findings suggest that the tiger may have come from the Bukit Tinggi Forest Reserve,” he said.

The body of the tiger has been collected by the authorities for further action.

A 28-second video circulating on social media purportedly shows the tiger’s corpse on the highway, allegedly hit by a vehicle.
