KOTA KINABALU: Polling day went smoothly without any untoward incidents according to Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Idris Abdullah.
“There was a delay in the transporting of ballot boxes to and from a voting centre due to flooding and bad weather.
“There was also difficulty in using a helicopter for that purpose but these challenges were overcome,” he said in a statement today.
He said 133 police reports were received and 40 investigation papers opened throughout the campaigning period up until Saturday's voting day.
“Sabah police extend its thanks for the help and cooperation given by the media, government agencies and all parties in helping the 15th General Elections run smoothly,” he said.
