TAMBUNAN: A total of 135 entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 40 from Tambunan, Tulid and Melalap were fortunate to be selected for the Entrepreneurship Programme, each receiving RM500 aid.
According to the Gagasan Women Youth Chief, Emmie Datuk Martin Idang, the assistance is one of the initiatives by the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor, who is committed to supporting the youth in the state – be it in education, human capital development, sports as well as young entrepreneurs.
“We will continue to make efforts to assist entrepreneurs so the amount can be increased, and hopefully more entrepreneurs will be involved in this programme,” she said when met after the event here.
She added that the programme indirectly provides an opportunity for young traders in rural and interior areas, who do not have business licenses or bank accounts, to receive assistance from the State Government.
Meanwhile, the entrepreneurs who were interviewed also expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which has been very helpful, and they hope the government will consider increasing the assistance.
Entrepreneur Farah Trancisca Sylvester expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister for the financial contribution.
“We are truly grateful, as the RM500 contribution can help us with our working capital,” she said.
Another entrepreneur, Christian Geoffrey, expressed hope that the assistance would be increased so more youth, especially in this area, can benefit from it.
