SHAH ALAM, Oct 11 — Over 130 entrepreneurs from nine districts in the state have been chosen as recipients of the Selangor Madani Entrepreneur Fund, with an allocation of RM2.4 million.

State executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said the 136 recipients, who were shortlisted from among thousands of applicants, can receive business equipment worth up to RM30,000.

“We received so many applications, up to thousands, from all over the state, but the recipients here today are ones we shortlisted based on set criteria.

“Among those criteria were that an applicant must have the potential to expand their business, which must add value to their locality, to help drive their local economy,” said Najwan when met after officiating the presentation ceremony for Selangor Madani Entrepreneur Fund recipients at Dewan Jubli Perak here today.

“For example, in addition to equipment grants, we can organise courses to train entrepreneurs to go further, like guiding them to export their products or join international expos,” he said.

The fund, derived from the Selangor Micro-Entrepreneur Fund launched in 2015, aims to help small businesses in the state increase productivity and assist them wit
