A PHOTOGRAPH of 14 families that sought refuge in a drain canal in the province of Dinagat Islands as Typhoon Kalmaegi struck Eastern Visayas and the northern portion of Mindanao in the Philippines on Nov 3 has gone viral, drawing mixed emotions from around the world.

Among them were children and a three-month-old baby, reported the Daily Tribune.

Rudelyn Dayon who also hid in the canal to escape the storm's fury later confirmed that all the families were safe.
