
Kota Kinabalu: The head of an illegal organisation calling themselves "Ayahanda" was among 14 arrested in Op Cantas (Gangsterism) in Inanam Point, Jalan Tuaran, here, on Wednesday.
All male suspects aged 22 to 49 were arrested by a team from the Anti-Corruption, Gambling and Secret Societies Prevention Division of the Sabah Police Contingent with assistance from members of the Inanam Police Station.
The Sabah Criminal Investigation Department chief, SAC Azmi Abd Rahim, said: "A check with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia found that the logo used by the organisation was not registered.
"In addition, there are elements of the Double 7 group that was gazetted as an illegal organisation in 2013."
