14 programmes lined up to mark TYT’s birthday

Kota Kinabalu: The State Government has lined up 14 programmes to mark the official 70th birthday celebration of Sabah Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.

Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said the programmes would be held around Kota Kinabalu, starting Oct 6.

“The celebration will kick off on Oct 6 (Friday) with a doa selamat and tahlil prayers at the Nurul Hikmah Mosque, Bukit Padang.

“On Oct 7, a parade will be held at Padang Merdeka, followed by a medal- awarding ceremony and a State banquet in the evening,” he said.

Joachim, who is also the Chairman of the Main Committee for the celebration, hopes all the programmes will run smoothly with the best cooperation from the departments and agencies involved.

Also present were Housing and Local Government (KKTP) Assistant Minister Datuk Mohamad Hamsan Awang Supain, KKTP Permanent Secretary Datuk Jamili Nais and City Hall (DBKK) Director General Rosnah Datu Tumai.
