The Nathpa Jhakri Hydel Power Project has released 145 cumecs of water on Sunday evening, resulting in an increase in Sutlej River’s discharge. JSW Tidong Power Generation Company Pvt. Ltd, meanwhile, has released 25 cumecs.
According to the companies, additional water may be released from the barrage as per operational requirements in the event of any increase in inflow. Following the additional discharge, the people residing downstream along the bank have been advised to stay alert and cautious.
