When we were kids, we would often be told by our parents to inform them of our whereabouts so that they can trace back to our last known location in case anything goes wrong.

A teenage boy unintentionally triggered a statewide search after it was reported that he went missing for days, only for him to be found at his friend’s house.

After days of searching, the police announced yesterday (Nov 10) that the boy was found safe and sound at the most unexpected location: his friend’s house.

Went to friend’s house to play PS2

According to Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh, Muhammad Syawal had gone to his friend’s house which was located within the same village to play the PlayStation 2 (PS2) throughout the time of his ‘disappearance’.

He added that the boy was last seen by his parents at 3.30am at home and that the teen had informed them that he would be hanging out at his friend’s place, reported MalaysiaGazette.

Furthermore, Muhammad Syawal also revealed that he had actually gone back home to shower and eat but his presence wasn’t noticed by his parents as they weren’t home at the time.

His mother earlier had told police that she had searched for her son at the homes of relatives, neighbors, and friends but found nothing.

We’re glad the boy was found in a safe condition by police and we hope nothing similar happens in the future!
