A 15-year-old boy has been arrested following a mass shooting that left 11 people injured outside Bragg Stadium in Tallahassee after Florida A&M University’s homecoming football game Saturday.
Anthony Rivers III was arrested Sunday on 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent, the Tallahassee Police Department said.
The police investigation suggests that a physical altercation took place between “individuals known to one another” before shots were fired around 8 p.m. near the university’s stadium, Police Chief Lawrence Revell said.
“At this stage of the investigation, none of the victims appear to have been the intended targets,” Revell said.
Six minors, including an 11-year-old, are among the injured. No deaths have been reported.
The off-campus shooting took place hours after Florida A&M’s homecoming football game against the University of Arkansas, which the Tallahassee school lost with a final score of 31-28. Authorities have not said whether the shooting was connected to the game.
In addition to those shot, a victim’s grandmother was injured while fleeing, authorities said.
Six of the victims were male and six were female. Six remain hospitalized, with one of the victims in critical condition, authorities said.

“What should have been a weekend of celebration in our community instead became a night of fear and violence for the victims and their families,” Revell said. “While this arrest marks a significant step forward, our work is far from over. We remain committed to holding those responsible accountable and getting answers for every family impacted by this tragedy.”
Authorities said that officers worked “around the clock” to identify the alleged shooter.
While Revell called the arrest “a significant step forward,” he said the investigation remains active and that additional arrests are possible.
