Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was pleased with goalscorer Mason Mount for their 4-0 friendly win at St Patrick's Athletic.
Mount in the midfield diamond was Ross Barkley, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho and Lampard was particularly pleased by the performances of the two Englishmen, while Scottish teenager Billy Gilmour was also praised for his second half display.
Mason (Mount) showed me what I saw at Derby last year with his energy, him and Ross (Barkley), and yeah there were a lot of good performances.
Billy Gilmore has had a great trip. The personality he has shown on this trip to play the two games at the level he's played them have been great. I just hope Billy keeps pushing on this season.
The younger players have now got a target: can you prove in pre-season that you're good enough to threaten the team? the squad? or whatever it might be."
