
KOTA KINABALU: Some 16 native non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and associations have signed a joint statement to support the Nature Conservation Agreement (NCA) and its implementation.
Political Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Mohd Anuar Abdul Ghani, said the statement was signed after a briefing session, here, Wednesday.
Jeffrey is also the Chairman of the Cabinet Steering, Management and Implementation (SMIC) of the NCA committee.
Among the associations are Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA), Sabah Sino Kadazan Dusun Murut Association, Sabah Suang Lotud Association, Sabah United Rungus Association, Sabah Tombonuo Association, Saba United Tobilung Association, and Sabah United Bisaya Association.

“They hope the people, particularly the natives of Sabah who will be affected and involved, will benefit from the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) of the United Nations.
“They urge the State Government to implement the NCA and abide by the 17 SDGs immediately,” he said in a statement, Thursday.
