
LAHAD DATU: A total of 16 premises were inspected during a five-day integrated operation to monitor the sale of vape products in the district.
The Lahad Datu Police Headquarters said in a statement that the operation was conducted by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Lahad Datu District Police in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Lahad Datu District Council from April 13 to 17.
The operation focused on premises suspected of selling vape products without proper authorisation, including sales to individuals below the permitted age and liquids believed to contain prohibited substances.
During the operation, several vape devices and flavoured vape liquids were seized for further investigation.
At the same time, enforcement teams from the Ministry of Health and the district council issued compounds to traders who failed to comply with existing requirements.
Advisories were also issued for offences such as failing to display notices prohibiting sales to those under 18, operating without valid business licences, and maintaining premises that did not meet cleanliness standards.
