Kota Kinabalu: A total of medical science students from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) were “assigned” to foster families to learn about the local community lifestyle and health matters.
These 178 students will take turns to live and learn from a total of 64 foster families in Kg Lajong, Kudat, and provide health and medical-related advice when sought.
UMS Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) Prof Dr Rasid Mail said these students are required to visit their foster families at least three times a year, and at least 15 times throughout their five-year course with the university.
