A girl aged around 18 years was found murdered near a canal passing behind Tau Devi Lal Park under Sector-6 police station area in Bahadurgarh on Friday spreading a wave of shock across the town.
Sources said she was attacked by a sharp-edged weapon as the body bore multiple injury marks. A boy accompanying her also suffered injuries and is undergoing treatment at a civil hospital in Bahadurgarh. The police have started investigation into the matter while the body has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examination.
Bahadurgarh Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mayank Mishra, upon receiving information about the crime, rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) also visited the scene of crime and collected samples and evidence from there.
“We are investigating the matter from every possible angle. The motive behind the murder and the identity of the attackers remain unclear at this stage, as the injured youth is currently unfit to give a detailed statement. We expect to solve the case soon," said the DCP.
Police are currently scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas and reviewing call logs to identify the two suspects who fled the scene after the attack.
