Rape is heinous crime that occurs when a person’s dignity and modesty is violated against their wishes and leaves behind devastating mental and physical consequences for the victim.
A bulldozer driver who was still in his teens was recently accused of raping his underaged girlfriend, an act he denied committing.
19yo M’sian teen accused of raping 15yo GF
As reported by NST, the accused was an unnamed 19-year-old, who was charged with raping his 15-year-old girlfriend last year.
According to the charge sheet, he allegedly committed the act inside a hotel room in Jalan Sultan Abdullah, Teluk Intan on May 6 at 10.30pm.
The charge was framed under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and caning, if convicted.
The teen pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Izzudin Fakri Hamdan while Farriz Minarwan represented the accused.
Bail set at RM1,500
In court, Izzudin asked the court to set bail at RM5,000. His request was countered by Farriz, who pleaded with the court to set a lower amount.
He added that the accused had gotten a new job two weeks ago and was recently given the responsibility of caring for his mother following his father’s passing.
Magistrate T. Ashvinii set bail at RM1,500 with one surety and ordered the accused to not approach or disturb the victim until the case is disposed of.
Case mention has been set for Aug 15.
