Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno has urged fans to get behind coach Albert Celades.
Supporters chanted Marcelino's name during the draw with Leganes after his sacking a fortnight ago.
Rodrigo remarked afterwards: "I understand that people can have their opinion and protest, but we must also respect the coach we have because it is with him we will fight for the objectives.
"It is a past chapter, Marcelino is part of the history of the club, but now we have to support the coach and the team to the fullest."
On missing his move to Atletico Madrid, Rodrigo added: "I am very calm, working seriously, trying to do what the coach asks, helping the team and we have to continue, there is still a lot to do."
