Liverpool youngster Sepp van den Berg was among the players that earned the most praise after their UEFA Youth League success.
The Reds managed a 2-0 win over Genk in the Youth League, which puts them in a great position to get into the knockout rounds.
Layton Stewart scored a penalty and captain Curtis Jones got another.
But it was summer signing van den Berg, a central defender, who stole the show from the off.
"Sepp has settled in and you can see that, especially compared to the last Youth League game," Liverpool youth coach Barry Lewtas told reporters.
"It takes time to adjust to new coaches and a new environment, and he is also moving in between age groups.
"His performance shows he is moving in the right direction and I'm really pleased for him.
"He was doing more talking, and is getting used to partnerships and how we do things.
"I don't spend a lot of time in his company, he comes with us for the Youth League, but around the building he seems to be settling in."
