SINCE the Penghargaan Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) rollout, more than 6.6 million individuals or about 30 per cent of all eligible recipients have used their Sara credit to purchase essentials.
Cumulative spending has reached over RM425.2 million across the country, with many expressing their gratitude to the Prime Minister.
The Sara programme forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to alleviate cost-of-living pressures and ensure direct assistance reaches those most in need.

It was recently revealed that among the recipients of the aid included fugitive tycoon Jho Low (Low Taek Jho) who is linked to the 1MDB scandal.
Gerakan vice-president Koo Shiaw Lee highlighted this in social media along with a screenshot of Jho Low's eligibility in the MyKasih system.
He wrote: "Jho Low's ID shows as 'eligible' in the MyKasih system".
Koo urged the government to review the model and ensure one without glitches which benefits those really in need. - September 5, 2025
