Optimus Prime, which you would know as a character from The Transformers, has been referenced in Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s 1MDB court case.

According to a report by Kosmo, ‘Optimus Prime’ is a title used by fugitive businessman, Jho Low, referring to the former Prime Minister when handling money transactions surrounding his personal account with AmBank.

This was brought up during the trial of the misappropriation of RM42 million in funds belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd. ‘Optimus Prime’, or ‘OP’, was also mentioned in the RM2.3 billion 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) corruption trial, which was heard at the KL High Court today (November 7).

Ambank’s former Relationship Manager, Joanna Yu said that the nickname was used by Jho Low when he exchanged Blackberry messages with her.
