2 Chinese tourists killed, others injured in Genting Highlands bus crash

TWO Chinese nationals were killed and several others injured after a tour bus landed on its side while travelling downhill on Jalan Genting-Bentong today.

The two men who died on the spot were believed to have been trapped in their seats in the 10.40am crash at Km16.5 of the road.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Dr Wan Mohamad Zaidi Wan Isa said the two deceased suffered head injuries.

"Their bodies were sent to Bentong Hospital, Pahang," he said.

Firefighters and rescue workers from the Bentong and Genting Highlands Fire and Rescue Stations were dispatched to the crash site.

The tour bus, which was travelling from the popular resort destination, was carrying 11 male and seven female tourists from China as well as three Malaysian men. – June 29, 2024.
