 2 hurt in Valenzuela fire

THE Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said that at least two people were hurt during a fire at a transport complex in Valenzuela City on Thursday.

The BFP said the two victims, whose identities were withheld, were brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The blaze, it said, which occurred at 5:46 a.m. and reached third alarm at 6 a.m., started at a bazaar inside the Valenzuela Gateway Complex in Barangay Paso de Blas.

The complex houses more than 100 stalls selling clothes, shoes, watches, and other items.

Firefighters coming from around Metro Manila declared the blaze under control at around 7:59 a.m.

The BFP has yet to determine what caused the fire and the estimated cost of damage. ARLIE CALALO
