2 M’sian Men Caught After Trying to Enter Istana Negara With Machete in Car

After the Ulu Tiram police station was attacked, security has been tightened nationwide.

According to Sinar Harian, the police have caught two men who tried to enter Istana Negara at about 4 pm on May 17.

The suspects said that they wanted to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.

KL Police Chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said that the two Malaysian men were caught at 4:40 pm.

“The police stopped a Perodua Kembara that tried to enter the palace through Pintu 3, the reason they gave is that they must meet with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.”

Upon further inspection of the men’s car, the police managed to find a machete in it. Urine drug tests were conducted on both men (ages 29 and 37), and they came out negative.

The suspects will be remanded for 4 days till 21 May for investigations under Section 447/511 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
