Two cadets from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) — Arpit Parashar (9th Course) and Vishesh Sood (10th Course) — were commissioned as officers in the Indian Navy today. The commissioning took place during the passing out parade (POP) at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala, Kerala, which was reviewed by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command.
Cadet Arpit, a native of Dhuri in the Sangrur district, and Cadet Vishesh, from Mohali, completed two years of training at the MRSAFPI, followed by three years at the National Defence Academy (NDA) and a final year of service-specific training at the INA. Both officers will soon join operational duties in the Indian Navy.
With their induction, the MRSAFPI celebrates a significant milestone, having now produced 24 commissioned officers for the Indian Navy. Furthermore, another 24 cadets from the institute have cleared their SSB interviews and are currently awaiting joining letters for courses commencing in June 2026 at various training academies.
