Kota Kinabalu: Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said Sabah is faced with the challenge of talent mismatch and underemployment, where talents do not work in the fields that they trained for.
He said during a dialogue and networking session that more than 200,000 of our talents are employed in the peninsula, causing a notable impact on the local talent pool.
Moreover, there is wage discrepancy in Sabah where low-skilled jobs dominate, accounting for 25.5 per cent of total employment in 2021.
