LAHAD DATU: The Marine Police Force (MPF) here seized 200 boxes of cooking oil from a lorry at Jalan Bakapit, Tungku, last Saturday.

Lahad Datu MPF Commanding Officer, Supt Rohizan Mohamad Saaid, said a patrol team at Jalan Bakapit spotted the suspicious looking Isuzu NPR lorry.

He said, when approached, the lorry made a U-turn at Simpang Bagahak prompting the team to apprehend the lorry at Jalan Bakapit.

“Both the lorry driver and his attendant failed to produce any documents of ownership for the controlled items,” he said.

Both the driver and attendant, aged 28 and 31, were detained.

“The seizures, estimated worth RM62,700 were taken to Lahad Datu Marine base for further action,” he added.
