If you’ve been anticipating the launch of the 2025 Proton X70, you don’t have to hold your breath for much longer. The national carmaker took to its official Facebook page recently and to confirmed that the refreshed and upgraded C-segment SUV offering launches this week on Thursday, Aug 15.

Proton adds that it will stream the launch event live online via said official Facebook page. At which point, the national carmaker is set to fully reveal the pricing scheme for all four variants of the 2025 Proton X70, as well as its after-sales packages.

As a refresher, Proton previewed its refreshed C-SUV based on the Geely Boyue earlier this month. Christened as a 2025 model year (2025MY) offering, the X70 gains a moderately restyled exterior and interior whilst also gaining a host of new and improved features to match too.

One major highlight here is long-awaited adoption of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity via its improved new touchscreen infotainment unit. However, as detailed in our in-depth preview report, both are coming via a post-launch over-the-air (OTA) software update issued by ACO Tech.

Secondly comes the fact that the Proton have both updated and upgraded the 2025 Proton X70’s ADAS suite to see it deliver true Level 2 semi-autonomous driving abilities. Another key alteration is the retirement of a 1.8-litre 4-cyl petrol TGDi engine option.

The latter sees all variants of the X70 now sharing the same 1.5-litre 3-cyl turbo as primed in stablemates like the S70 sedan, smaller X50 RC crossover, as well as the larger X90. Altogether, Proton noted that the 2025MY X70 boasts no less than 360 new parts fitted.
