SHAH ALAM, Nov 17 — The 2025 Selangor Budget, presented by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on Friday (November 15), has been described as comprehensive and prioritising the people’s well-being.
The following are the responses from state leaders:
“The theme ‘A Dynamic Selangor: An Ideal Quest for a Civil Malaysia’ will undoubtedly bring holistic benefits to all Malaysians, regardless of ethnicity, as Selangor is a diverse state.
“This budget continues to emphasise openness and inclusivity for the people by distributing Selangor’s wealth equitably.”

“My hope is that all these initiatives can be implemented effectively to meet the aspirations of the people of Selangor.
“Additionally, a Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PAWE) will be established in the Kota Anggerik (state) constituency to benefit seniors by providing meaningful activities, especially as Selangor transitions towards an ageing society.”

“The 2025 Selangor Budget is comprehensive, addressing direct assistance to the people, staff welfare, and urgent public issues such as floods, roads, and infrastructure.
“I am confident that the people of Selangor will be pleased with the presented budget.”

“The 2025 Selangor Budget emphasises the people’s welfare. It is inclusive and aligns with current developments, such as focusing on artificial intelligence and Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
“Another significant focus is addressing strata housing issues, and the initiatives announced by the Dato’ Menteri Besar will help resolve many problems faced by strata residents in Selangor.”

“To me, the 2025 Selangor Budget must improve on issues related to abandoned housing projects.
“This is a critical matter to resolve as it directly impacts the people, especially in the Morib constituency.”

“As a young person, I find this budget particularly appealing as it prioritises education with a substantial allocation. This is a great step forward, especially for the youth of Selangor pursuing higher education.
“In Kota Damansara, where many young people reside and several universities are located, this will have a positive impact on the local community.
“The budget’s initiatives, such as the Ceria Scheme and Rewang Strata, will certainly benefit the residents.”

“In terms of welfare, one new initiative stands out: the funeral assistance scheme providing up to RM1,000. While similar schemes existed before, this one offers a more standardised approach.
“An allocation of RM400,000 to upgrade PAWE centres in four state constituencies will support NGOs lacking resources to carry out activities at these centres.
“While there are many notable welfare initiatives, there is room for improvement in provisions for women and disabled persons. However, the establishment of the Selangor Special Persons Foundation is a step forward, and we will continue to build on these efforts within the available resources.”
