A suspect involved in the kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl in Negeri Sembilan was shot to death by the police in Klang this morning (April 14).

The Malaysian suspect, who was only 21 years old, kidnapped the teen on April 10. She was released back to her family in Sendayan around 8:30 PM the next day. The release was made after the family paid a ransom of RM280,000, along with some jewellery, to the suspect.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Deputy Director (Operations/Intelligence), Datuk Fadil Marsus, said the kidnapping was conducted by more than 1 person, and the kidnappers initially demanded a RM2 million ransom, but the victim’s family could only give RM280,000.

Investigations led to several raids and arrests, and the 21-year-old suspect was spotted in Klang at 5 AM today before a chase ensued.

According to PDRM, the suspect refused to stop and rammed a police vehicle before he opened fire.

“He was shot to death in Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang. He was also driving the same vehicle which he used to release the victim in Sendayan,” Datuk Fadil told the media at the crime scene.
