A private university in Subang Jaya turned into a crime scene yesterday (July 14) when a 21-year-old man attacked his former girlfriend with a knife.

According to Subang Jaya police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, the incident occurred at around 6.30pm.

The suspect, a foreign national, allegedly slashed the 20-year-old woman on the left side of her neck using a knife.

The victim, also a foreign national, was rushed to University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM).

She was placed in the emergency red zone for treatment and is currently in stable condition.

The 21-year-old man, believed to be the victim’s ex-boyfriend, was arrested by police immediately after the attack.

Investigations are still ongoing to determine the motive.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a fine, whipping, or any combination of these for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
